Iain Watson, Lead Director, Local Authorities

Iain is Lead Director for Local Authorities, responsible for developing and delivering financing solutions that support large regional authorities with infrastructure, energy efficiency and place-based investment.  

He has more than 25 years of experience in the public infrastructure sector. Prior to joining, he led the UK Green Investment Bank’s public sector lending team, specialising in energy efficiency, building retrofit and heat network projects. Previously, he worked in RBS’s structured finance team, delivering complex debt and equity solutions with local authorities and major UK and international corporates across ports, roads, transport and waste. Earlier in his career, he advised the UK Government on major privatisations and helped develop new PPP models in health and education during his time at PwC and KPMG.
