Tony Walsh, Senior Strategic Advisor, Local Authorities

Tony is Senior Strategic Advisor for Local Authorities, providing strategic guidance to senior leaders across major regional authorities. He is also Co-Head of Advisory.  

Tony is a strategic board advisor and green finance specialist with extensive experience in corporate banking and public-private partnerships. He spent 38 years at Barclays, including running the UK Corporate Bank, covering clients from SME to PLC with a particular emphasis on funding requirements in the private and public markets. He also played an important role in the early setup of the UK Infrastructure Bank, joining as Cohead of Banking during its first year of operations. Tony served as a director of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership from 2017 to 2020, where he chaired Education and Skills across the North. 

Tony serves as a Non-Executive Director at NIC Services Group Ltd and as a senior mentor and coach at LHH (Adecco).
